The goal of the Gladwin County Zoning Department is to promote the public health, safety, and general welfare of the residents of Gladwin County through the Gladwin County Zoning Ordinance. This ordinance provides for the orderly development of the county, providing conditions under which certain buildings and structures may be erected and used, and regulating new building development to the best advantage of the county while conserving the value of all properties.

Townships administered under the Gladwin County Zoning Ordinance are: Beaverton Township, Bentley, Bourret, Buckeye, Butman, Gladwin, Grim, Grout, Hay and Sherman.

Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Five other townships (Billings, Clement, Sage, Secord and Tobacco) and both cities (Gladwin & Beaverton) have adopted their own zoning ordinances. Zoning issues in these areas are handled by the specific township or city.
