The Treasurer's office works efficiently because of our staff. Our friendly staff is here to serve the citizens of Gladwin County promptly and courteously.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the Treasurer are defined by state law and authorization of the County Board of Commissioners. The Treasurer serves as the custodian of all County funds, signs all checks, collects and disperses all delinquent real property taxes as well as current Summer taxes for Secord Township; handles dog licenses & fees. The Treasurer is responsible for accounting of all revenue coming to the county, investment of idle funds, securities and monies held in financial institutions, certification of deeds, plat maps and all other documents pertaining to tax histories and litigations; also prepares for and manages the annual tax sale on behalf of the State Treasury.


Former Equalization services now provided by the Treasurer:

  • Maintaining maps for all descriptions within the county.

  • Educating the public on assessment administration procedures and requirements.

  • Researching and notifying parties of discrepancies in recorded documents.

  • Providing public and private access to parcel information.

    Land records information is now available online at the link below. This service is provided to township and city tax officials, but is also available for a fee to the public. For exact payoff information for closings, etc., please contact the office of the Gladwin County Treasurer.

    Tax Reverted Land Sale

    The next sale of tax reverted lands will soon be scheduled. The sale is held periodically to dispose of lands forfeited for non-payment of taxes. As the sale list becomes finalized a link will be provided that includes details and a property listing in pdf format. Sale information is also be available from www.tax-sale.infor/gladwin-county including all terms and conditions.

    Dog License Information

    All dogs in Gladwin County must have a current rabies certificate and be licensed. Licenses must be renewed annually. Dog licenses are sold in the Treasurer's office, at the Animal Shelter, and at participating township and city offices from November 1st until the end of February. As of March 1st tags are available only from the treasurers office, and are delinquent, except for puppies, and subject to the delinquent tag fee. You must present a current rabies certificate to purchase any dog license.

    Credit Card Payments

    The Office of Gladwin County Treasurer can now accept credit card payments for taxes through Paymentus Corporation. This service is available by phone at (877) 318-5115 or online at: https://ipn.paymentus.com/otp/stde/glwc. Paymentus charges a 2.95% fee for this service that will be charged to your credit card. Most major credit cards are accepted (Visa, MasterCard, Discover) as well as e-checks. Paymentus notifies us immediately after payment has been made, and the payment will post to your account the next business day.
