Gladwin County is in the heart of the mitten, and home to
acres of parks with miles of trails for non-motorized usage.
The Gladwin County Recreation Area, at 1365 Shaw Rd. or Pratt Lake Road; known in its younger days as
the "Sportsmen's Club". It contains 160 acres with 5 miles of mountain bike trails; also hiking trails,
and groomed cross-country ski trails. There are seasonal picnic sites. There is also a .5 mile asphalt
walking trail that is handicapped accessible. The lodge and grounds of the 'sportsmen's club' are now available for seasonal rental, thru October 31, for that special party, wedding reception, reunion, or what-have-you. In the City of Gladwin walkers/runners/in-line skaters have the Riverwalk trail, 1.3 miles of asphalt,
from the Gladwin City Park at 100 N. Cayuga to North Park (home of the Skate Park), along the Cedar River.
Please note: Motorized vehicles may NOT be operated in the Gladwin County Recreation Area or on the Riverwalk in Gladwin.
Dogs must be on leashes (please have the courtesy to clean up after the dog.)
